For the children who live in the underground caverns of the Riverwarren, the Day of Pyres is filled with stories and celebrations of a noble dragon protector who long ago descended from the surface world to help the Riverwarren's people in a time of great need. As the children get older, dreams of the dragon's return will assuredly fade, and attentions turn to fine spirits and foolhardy flame play, but for a time their young minds will grasp the truth.
